Whenever you need access to the Public Drive and are struggling to connect, there are several ways to troubleshoot.
1.) Ensure you are connected to "HHBC Private" wifi network. This is the network you can establish a connection to our servers. For protection against accidental or purposeful access to our servers, we do not allow access to our drives on the "HHBC Public" network, so make sure you are connected to "HHBC Private".
1a.) If you are at your desk, make sure the purple ethernet cord is plugged into your docking station or straight into your laptop.
2.) If you are connected to the correct wifi network and are still experiencing issues, next is to sign out of your computer and restart it. Often times, allowing your computer to reset itself can fix the issue.
3.) If restarting the computer does not correct the issue, next follow these steps:
Click on the Windows key and type "\\hhbcfs5\public" and hit enter. This will run a command to open this drive's folder pathway automatically. A File Explorer window should pop up.
4.) Ensure your device is up to date on any updates from Microsoft. To check this, click on the Windos Key and type "Updates". This will bring up the "Check for Updates" match under System Settings. Click on that item to open it. When the Windows update window pops up, you can click the BLUE button that says "Check for updates". Your computer will check for updates and either recommend updating or state that your device is up to date.
If the issue is still persisting, contact HHBC IT Department via a ticket. In the meantime, ensure you are plugged into a computer dock that has a hardwired connection to the network.
